Background
When we first started Drive, we had a lot of questions about diets and losing weight. Our classes were a great way to burn calories, get the metabolism firing, achieve great muscle tone and definition and increase fitness. But we realised without educating our clients about the types of foods they should be eating and why, they were not going to get the results they desired... and deserved after their hard work in our classes.
Our clients were confused and bombarded by the media with fad diets and new quick fix weightloss solutions like 'shakes'....we got lots of questions ....did we believe in low carb diets?... should I avoid carbs after 12pm?... did we see the latest 'Lose 5 kilos in a week' diet in a certain magazine? etc etc.
We realised how important it was to educate our clients about good nutrition through a detailed and organised approach. We wanted our clients to realise the importance of a nutritionally sound diet that is based on eating 'clean' (unprocessed) foods and understanding the importance of caloric values of foods.
Our clients had often spent hundreds of dollars on weight loss programs such as Jenny Craig, Kate Morgan, Lite and Easy, Weightwatchers. These programs had worked for them for a period of time but failed to teach them how to maintain their loss.
We wanted people to learn how to eat 'real' food in everyday situations and maintain a healthy weight...for life...not just a couple of months!
So...we developed a 6 week Nutrition Program.
